Lying in the rain shadow
behind the Annapurna range we tread in the territory opened only a decade ago. Being a restricted area a
special permit is required and a government appointed Liaison officer to accompany on the trek. A trek to
this fabled kingdom is truly a unique experience. It is as if you have traveled a 100-years back. Since there
are no roads linking to this region, the only mode of transportation is by foot or on horses. Time stops in
this part of the world but not your sense of appreciation and fascination for this remarkable place on earth
still untouched and unspoiled by the modern world. Amazing landscapes and views, barren land with
occasion oasis of green terraced fields, chortens with their prayer flags beating against the wind, these
are some of the many experiences that will leave an everlasting mark in your heart.
