Marsyangdi means "Raging River" in the local dialect and this aptly describes one of the best whitewater runs in the world. Featuring five days of impressive non-stop grade 4-5 rapids and unparalleled mountain views, this jewel of a river is rated as a favorite by the few who have been privileged to paddle it. The five-day trip down the river offers beautiful mountain views. The raging water offers some stiff challenge to even the most season rafter.

Following the Annapurna circuit we trek along the valley through charming Gurung villages and emerald fields. Children play excited along the trails as we pass, snow-capped Himalayan giants surround us, and the champagne river churns and bubbles below. Few rivers rival the Marsyangdi for exhilarating whitewater, and sustained sections of steep technical rafting test our teamwork. Thundering rapids twists between house-sized boulders, steep chutes plunge into deep blue-green pools.

For most of the section from Ngadi down to Bimalnagar the river forms a gorge winding through the valley floor. As the crystal blue water twists and turns between the steep walls, fresh views unfold behind of the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges - a breathtaking backdrop and a photographer's dream.
