North of Kathmandu, closest to the capital is the Langtang area, a natural paradise. Though the closest trekking area to the capital it has not achieved cult status like the Annapurna and Everest region. The less number tourists make it a very good trekking option. Home to green sprawling pastures and the Langtang Valley described by H.W. Tilman, a Bristish mountaineer and explorer, who was among the pioneers to visit this area, as the most beautiful valley in the world. The trail starts at Dunche, a small town approximately seven hours drive from KTM, and passes through meadows, sleepy villages and green paddy fields. The trek goes all the way to Langshisha Kharka and eventually ends from where it started. Diverse and engrossing the trip is a kaleidoscope of mountain life. The Himalayan vistas are amazing and leave an unforgettable mark on a trekker.
